Jody’s Story

My Story

I was born with an extra long small intestine. This triggered poor elimination (also known as chronic constipation) and I lived on oral laxatives and anal suppositories from infancy through my teens. Can you say chronic bloating, constipation, back pain, anxiety, visits to emerg? I thought this was normal. No one, not even my GP or any GI Specialist EVER spoke to me about how food could have changed everything for me right there and then.

My story started at birth, but in my late teens – I was introduced to colonics.  Colonics quickly became a part of my life. Having colonics helped me manage the constipation. The connector to the chronic pain, constant bloating and discomfort, and constant use of laxatives.  Little did I know, years later, I would learn how to incorporate colonics as part of a regular routine, and not just as a quick fix because I hadn’t had a bowel movement for 5 or 6 days.

My First Colonic

Like most people, I was nervous about my first session.  I didn’t really know what to expect but was happy to find it was not so bad at all.

My first couple of sessions were not all that successful. My therapist convinced me to keep going as she said “Rome wasn’t built in a day”.  I laughed! By the time I finished my third session, I really started to see results and felt quite energized.  Patience is key here. Most people need more than one session when they start the process. It takes time to hydrate the colon tissue and soften old fecal matter. Our colons are just giant garbage cans and you know what that’s like… trying to rinse out the bottom and sides generally takes time.

Fast forward 3 decades

At the beginning of 2019, following numerous life changes, work stressors, and the death of my father, I had a physical exam that revealed my health was on a downward spiral.

I had put on 40 lbs., my cholesterol was peaking, I was diagnosed with early stage fatty liver, a pretty bad chronic case of gout, asthma, chronic psoriasis, and I wasn’t pooping much at all!  In fact, I wasn’t feeling anything but inflammation and pain. My body was sending me some loud messages, and I wasn’t listening.

Vitalife Clinic

Having purchased Vitalife (Digestive Health Clinic) – I thought it was important to set an example for my clients, so I embarked on a very long journey back to better health.

The Journey (2019 – 2023)

Low and Slow! Changes don’t happen overnight, and they don’t come easily. What took me 50 years to break, would take me 5 years to fix.

February 2019 – To kickstart my journey, I did a series of colonics (2-4 per week) over a 6 week period, I changed my eating habits focussing on whole foods, removing fried, processed, refined and sugar laden foods.

I decreased strength building and increased my cardio VERY moderately by walking 5-10K steps daily. I cut out my daily intake of alcohol, and started juicing with massive amounts of fruits and vegetables 1-2 days a week. Juicing allows your digestive system to take a break, letting it clear all the way before you over stuff it with food again.

Important to note here, that I changed my dinner plate to a side plate to help keep my portion sizes to a minimum. Afterall, your stomach is only the size of your fist! Has anyone ever told you that?

The cleaning process from mouth to gut

6 months into my gut cleaning process, I did my first Intestinal Cleanse called Zencleanz ONE. This cleanse was so powerful, it took me for a crazy ride. After the initial die-off period of about 3 months, (another story for another time) my internal health was definitely changing.

Then I found the home cleanse kits from Zencleanz. 4 intestinal cleanses and 3 liver cleanses later, my weight started coming down, the chronic pain and inflammation was nearly gone, no more gout, a new toe nail appeared, I stopped having asthma attacks! Seriously! Total body shift.

Today, colon cleanses, enemas, home kits (too many to mention), a concentration on whole foods, probiotics, fiber, and daily activities keeps me on track.  I won’t lie to you, I like to have a good time. We travel and head out for a nice dinner every once and awhile, I drink some wine and I even order a dessert now and then. What? Yes. But, I keep these choices to a minimum and consider them rewards for practising good habits most of the time. And I’ll tell you this… since I’ve made these changes, my body no longer craves the things that made it difficult in the beginning of the journey. Nothing goes in my mouth now without me taking a good look at its’ value to my health.

NOT an easy road, but, I am enjoying a healthier life than ever before. My cholesterol is the best it’s been in 20 years and my fatty liver is no longer an issue. I’m going #2 all on my own every day of the week!  No, I’m not shy about saying this, because NOT pooping is where my health decline started.
