General day to day detoxing
Giving your body everyday attention through ‘mini’ detoxes or day-to-day general detoxing can help support your body throughout the year.
Dotoxing is a process
A detox to flush your system can take days, weeks, even years! Considering regular detox practices like juice cleanses or juice days, colonics, or enemas, are things that we can be doing to help keep the die-off of targeted flushes and detoxes to a minimum.
Flushes of any kind, can set you body into die-off mode, and if you’re not prepared for this, it can take you down! Starting slowly is suggested until you understand just how “getting healthy” can actually take you on a massive rollercoaster ride.
Gentle at home remedies
Hot water and lemon
This power combo is good for so many reasons! Lemons are tasty and high in vitamin C – one of the best antioxidants the body can receive (not to mention vitamin C is SUPER helpful in preventing and controlling colds!) Hot water and lemon is also beneficial and supportive to the liver. The liver – our biggest detox organ – MUST be maintained. Last but not least, if you drink lemon water first thing every morning (before food), you may even get a bowel movement out of it! Pooping is living… as I always say.
Water + Fiber
We’re talkin’ adequate water intake and consistent consumption of fruits, veggies, beans, and legumes. This powerful combination of things helps your digestive system get rid of waste. In plain words, these things help you poop! Again with the pooping 🙂
Herbal Teas and other liquids
Herbal teas can support hydration levels and provide an abundance of benefits. For example: Chamomile tea helps reduce menstrual pain and muscle spasms. It can improve sleep and relaxation, and reduce stress. Rooibos tea can lower blood pressure and improve circulation. It can boost good cholesterol levels, keep hair strong and skin healthy. Green teas are high in antioxidants, and antioxidants fight off free radicals which may play a role in heart disease, cancer and other diseases.
Coffee Enemas
Coffee enemas are a great maintenance tool for home use that target liver health. Good liver health leads to detoxification and liver function. Better liver function lends itself to better overall body health!
If it’s drinking coffee you crave to get the day started, I wouldn’t ever say no. Having said that, try Beautiful Mind CoffeeTM roasted with a combination of Peruvian Maca root powder, decaffeinated green tea extract, and American ginseng extract. The best of both worlds.
There are several other ways that we can implement ‘mini’ detox approaches in our daily activities, but these are just a few. Incorporating hot water, lemon, fiber, and herbal teas are easy ways to keep things moving in our bodies. These small additions may serve as beneficial little stepping stones until (or if) you decide to implement a larger cleanse or detox approach such as a colonic, full liver or intestinal cleanse, or home juice cleanse!
My approach… start slowly and work towards changing your lifestyle over a period of time… forever.
HOW TO BOOST YOUR DETOX
Points of entry for toxins
The digestive system and the lungs. Toxins then penetrate the blood and go through three main filters: the liver, the lymphatic system, and the kidneys. That’s the order we must follow when detoxing. The body can heal itself. All we can do is keep it in optimal condition so it can heal. We do this by cleansing (removing roadblocks in its way), and feeding it (giving it the power to perform optimally).
Health is our NATURAL STATE! We must stop walking toward illness, stop poisoning ourselves, and remember that we are from the Earth, so we must feed from it. If you’re ready for a deeper detox, LINK HERE
