This recipe for Celery Apple Kale Lemon juice makes about 2 – 2 1/2 cups. I always share it with my husband, but if you don’t have anyone to share with who likes green juice, you could refrigerate the extra serving for a day and it will be fine.
If you find kale is too bitter, try doing half kale and half spinach. Or, just substitute entirely with spinach. I alternate between the two depending on what I have in the fridge.
Don’t have a juicer? Try using your blender… I sometimes prefer this method. Yes, you have to strain it but it’s much simpler and easier to clean than a juicer!
Ingredients:
- 3 medium-sized apples
- 1 cup of chopped celery
- 1 cup of kale
- 1/2 medium-sized lemon
Benefits:
- Metabolism: Beta-carotene in celery promotes metabolism, and the large amount of potassium is also effective in lowering blood pressure.
- Removes Toxins: Lemon has vitamin C which helps to remove toxins from your body.
- Fights inflammation: Quercetin is an antioxidant flavonoid found in apples that is known to fight inflammation, thus helps to fight conditions such as allergies, chronic fatigue, and atherosclerosis.
Celery apple kale lemon juice is great for specific reasons above, but you can always substitute with other fruit or vege items you have available. A juice can be whatever you want it to be – and you get an added boost of fiber that you wouldn’t have otherwise! Having a juice of any kind is better than not having one at all.
